Maritime wins Road Haulier of the Year Award
Maritime Transport has been named Road Haulier of the Year for 2018 at the Global Freight Awards. The award is picked by the readers of the freight industry publication Lloyd’s Loading List. Lloyd’s Loading List asks its readers for nominations for freight operators that provide industry leading, innovation solutions to its customers. After multiple rounds of voting, Maritime in their debut year to the list, came first place out of five other major UK hauliers.
Maritime also collected the Road Freight Operator of the Year from the FTA Multimodal Awards for the third year in a row back in May. The awards evening was held at the prestigious Royal Lancaster London Hotel, and was attended by over 500 industry experts and leaders. Maritime Transport have had a fantastic year this year, and have continued to grow as a company due to their hard work, innovation, and excellent service they provide to the industry.
CEO Simon Stuart said: “We are extremely proud and honoured to have received this award voted for by readers and our own customers, and are grateful for their kind acknowledgement. We see this as a recognition of the hard work that our drivers and staff have put in, particularly in recent months whilst the industry is facing unprecedented challenges.’
Leading the way
We are pleased Maritime are being recognised for the modern approach they bring to their operations, and we will be working alongside them in 2019 on a new project to improve standards in transport training. We would also like to remind our readers that Maritime’s Professional Driver Scheme allows newly qualified drivers to get into the industry, even with no experience.
